12.3 계엄 이후 장기화된 광화문 광장의 집회를 ‘탈(Mask, Post)’의 다층적 의미에 겹쳐 본다. 광장의 복판에 내던져진 카메라는 기록의 소명과 사적인 체험 사이 어딘가를 가로질러 작동한다. 집회를 가득 채운 전단지를 주워모아 조각으로 찢어내 익명의 탈을 만들어 군중의 얼굴에 씌워본다. 반복되는 광장의 발생과 순환이 탈놀이의 해방적 유희에 겹쳐 보이기 시작한다.
This work maps the prolonged Gwanghwamun protests following the December 3 martial law onto the multi-layered concept of Tal (Mask/Post). Amidst the square, the camera blurs the line between documentary vocation and personal experience. Rally flyers are torn into anonymous masks for the crowd, merging the square’s cyclical emergence with the emancipatory play of Talnori (traditional mask play).
